Altaïr in a free concert at Carnegie Hall on October 27:
From German Romanticism to Transylvanian Legends

RCINY has the pleasure to recommend the Carnegie Hall debut of the Romanian-Swiss quartet Altaïr (Atena Carte, piano; Alain Chavaillaz, clarinet; Mihaela Buhaiciuc, soprano and Ulpia Gheorghita, mezzo-soprano) in a free concert, concluding their first time NYC tour. The concert transports the listeners from German romanticism - through three of its most illustrious representatives, Franz Schubert, Louis Spohr and Carl Maria von Weber - to the universe of Transylvanian tales and legends - with the works of Romanian composers Mihail Jora and Tiberiu Brediceanu, and the world premiere of "Strigoaicaria" (The Lady Vampires), a creation of Swiss composer Thierry Besançon, on a libretto by Ors Kisfaludy. Learn more about the ensemble at altairmusique.com.
